Cardiovascular Health Program
The Cardiovascular Health program helps prevent heart disease in Perry County by working toward environmental and policy changes that will reduce a person’s risk of developing heart disease. The program coordinator works with schools, communities, worksites and healthcare professionals to help create the needed changes.
The most important things a person can do to prevent heart disease are to be physically active, not use tobacco and choose healthy foods. To address these issues the cardiovascular health program has worked to provide Perry County with more opportunity for physical activity and healthy foods through the following:
