KellyKelly Stevenson is our head lice coordinator and is delighted to offer a new program geared toward head lice education, prevention and control.  She is here to:

*Promote awareness and education regarding head lice with children, teachers and parents.
*Attempt to eradicate the negative stigma involved with head lice.
*Lower the number of lice outbreaks in our community.
*Educate to help eliminate incorrect use of toxic pesticide treatments.

The nurse can call in prescriptions if the child has a medical card.  She can go into homes to perform head checks, help apply the medicated shampoos and help remove nits (eggs).  She also has sweepers to loan out and other various cleaning supplies to offer. The program is funded by the Perry County Job & Family Services.
All education and services are free of charge.  You can reach Kelly at (740) 342-5179 ext. 239 or e-mail her at kjsteven@odh.ohio.gov.
