HEAD LICE CONTROL The Health Department has a program geared toward assisting families with head lice problems and questions.  The Health Department sends the program coordinator to the home to assess family's needs, educate and empower them, and help with the lice removal process.  The nurse in the office can also call in prescriptions for children with the medical card. We also provide an all organic, non-toxic lice killing shampoo called "De-Bug." All metal nit removal combs are also available.

THE COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PROGRAM provides a variety of services to assist with the identification and control of communicable diseases. Surveillance and follow-up is conducted by public health nurses on all communicable diseases reported to the health department by private physicians and hospitals.

THE CONFIDENTIAL HIV TESTING PROGRAM is available. Clients are seen on a walk-in basis and client confidentiality is maintained through a process whereby each client is given a code number for follow-up and no names are recorded by the health department staff. Parental permission is not required for minors and test results will be provided by a post test counselor only to the individual that was actually tested. .

TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL is provided through surveillance and treatment for active disease as well as preventive treatment.

IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM - Immunization services are available at the health department.

GENERAL NURSING SERVICES provided through our walk-in services.
